Builder Fee

What the Aura builder fee is, when it applies, and how to revoke it

Builder Fee

The Aura builder fee is a 0.1% ceiling on the fee Aura can collect on mainnet perp trades executed through the platform. It requires a one-time on-chain approval — you sign it once during setup, and it applies to all future trades without any further action.

Hyperliquid's builder fee system is documented in their docs.

When it applies

  • Mainnet perpetual futures on Hyperliquid — yes
  • perps.fun markets — no
  • Spot markets — no
  • HIP-3 tokens — no
  • Polymarket — no

Why it exists

Builder fees are how Aura funds development. Hyperliquid's protocol allows builders to collect a fee from the trades they route — Aura's approval sets a ceiling so you always know the maximum you can be charged.

How to revoke

Go to Hyperliquid.com → Settings → Builders. Find the Aura entry and revoke. The fee stops applying immediately. If you trade on Aura after revoking, you'll be prompted to re-approve.

Zero-fee path

If you created your account through Aura (embedded wallet), the builder fee is waived entirely until $1B lifetime trading volume. See Free Trading.
