Can't Approve Builder Fee

Fixing the two errors that block the builder fee approval step

Can't Approve Builder Fee

The builder fee approval step has two specific error states that Aura detects and handles automatically.

"Not in unified mode"

Hyperliquid requires your account to be in unified mode before a builder fee can be approved. If Aura detects your account isn't unified — for example, if you changed the setting externally after initial setup — it will insert the unified mode step before retrying the builder fee.

What to do: Follow the prompt. One additional signature switches your account to unified mode, then the builder fee approval proceeds automatically.

"Insufficient balance"

Hyperliquid requires a positive account balance before a builder fee approval can be submitted. This is a protocol-level check.

What to do:

  1. Deposit USDC to your Hyperliquid account — see How to deposit
  2. Return to the trade page and tap the builder fee approval prompt again
  3. The approval will go through once a balance is detected

Even a small balance (a few dollars) is enough to satisfy the check.

Signature was cancelled

If you cancelled the approval signature, tap the CTA again. The flow resumes at the builder fee step — no need to redo the other steps.
